The LCCH Partnership with Thames Valley University - What it means to you
 What is a Certificate in Personal and Professional Development (CPPD)?
A CPPD is a higher education award that is, in this instance, a pathway to post-graduate
education.
Will I be an LCCH Student or a Thames Valley University (TVU) student?
You will be considered both a TVU and an LCCH student.
Do I have to register with TVU?
You will have to register with TVU as the LCCH will not be running a two-tier system with regard to its courses.
What will it cost me?
Becoming a TVU student will cost you nothing, as the registration fees will be met by the LCCH. A deposit of £10.00 will be payable by you for your TVU student card. This is returned to you at the end of your period of study.
How will registering with TVU benefit me?
You will become a part-time university student with all the benefits that will entail. Further details can be found at www.tvu.ac.uk
You will be able to have access to a variety of university libraries as negotiated by TVU.
You will have access to the main TVU Learning Resource Centres that exist on the St. Mary’s Road Campus, Slough Campus and at Paragon House. You will also be able to access a
range of facilities via the internet e.g. LRC catalogue, reservation/renewal of books, on-line databases (Medline, Psychlit, EMBASE, Cinahl).
On successful completion of your CPPD examination you will have a higher education
qualification that is recognised and trusted at the national and international level by both the established medical professions and the general public alike.
Does the partnership mean that the LCCH no longer controls its courses?
The LCCH maintains ownership of all its course, retaining all intellectual and developmental rights. The partnership with TVU means that any changes to our courses are made in conjunction with TVU in order to ensure that they meet the high academic standards relevant to the award being given.
If I start the CPPD Clinical Hypnosis, does this mean I have to complete the entire proposed Masters programme to be able to practice?
Not at all. It is your decision as to how far you wish to progress. Remember: each level of training is a qualification in its own right.
I have not had any academic training in the past; will this affect my ability to begin training with you?
Admission to the CPPD Clinical Hypnosis is either through relevant academic qualification or, in line with modern university admission policies, through accreditation of prior experiential learning (APEL).
